Election Hooplah...

Okay, so Matt asked me if I have been keeping up with the election and wanted my opinion.
I have included in this post a match-game that I found to be a little helpful, although, I have made up my mind based on actual research. I am nervous about giving my opinion on this blog because most of you guys who still post with me here are still very impressionable and I would rather you make your own decisions. I would rather you "vote" for someone who I wouldn't have, but based on your own thoughts and ideas, than on the candidate I will vote for, based on the fact that I am voting for him. (that gives something away, doesn't it:) I guess the furthest I will go is that I will NOT be voting in the primary. It's not really because I think it's bogus (but I do)...I think it's ridiculous that party heads will have everyone's information to solicit. But, what's more, what's the point of voting if the candidate you want to vote for isn't on the ballot?
So, if you do your research, that should narrow it down for you...but not give it away.

So you are either Edwards or Obama, and I am going to guess Obama because there I don't hear from many Edwards supporters besides myself. But you could surprise me. I think you should just be out with it. I can't vote anyway, and I can say you likely wont be swaying my opinion, unless you can come up with some solid arguments.

Oh and that link didn't work for me.

Okay, okay, Obama, but I like Edwards too. I think the two would make an awesome team.

I am not sure why the whole link didn't work. try googling candidate Match game...

My only beef with Obama is he is in favor of continuing war in some form or another. From what I read, he wants to move into Pakistan.

I found the site and took the quiz. I think some of my info may have been wrong. I read the issues for the other candidates. I still like Obama and Edwards, but Kucinich is pretty cool too.

I agree! Actually, I lined up most with Kusinich...and it's a game here. If I thought Kusinich had a chance I might vote for him. I didn't read the war stuff, I will have to look that up. Thanks for the info. I still think Obama/Edwards would be a great team.

Kucinich was my number one as well! But he has a snowball's chance, kind of a bummer. He's too liberal, mainly with his gay marriage fews. Sounds like Obama is pulling drastically ahead though, I would also love to see Obama/Edwards. And my info on the war was contradicted by facts in that match game, so I think I am wrong.

Hey Capy! Hope all is well with you! It's been a while since I have posted a message, so I thought I should soon... :) Don't worry posting your opinions wont pursuade me unless you do have valid, strong arguments... :) Thanks for the link, it's actually cool to put your perspective with all the candidates!

Maya, I am not as worried about you as I am others. You're a big college girl now!

I'm going to be honest. I support Hillary.

Flaws with each Democrat.
-Clinton: 24-28 years of a Clinton/Bush monarchy. Anti-Hillary factor is also big.
-Obama: He dosn't have any views, everything is about change and nothing more, apparently everyone is right?
-Edwards: Ran last election, lost. He wont even get VP because of 2004 when his VP for Kerry did nothing. Kerry/no one v. Bush/Cheney?
-Richardson: Let's face it, he has no shot for office. He will be offered VP most likley.

I'll also talk on the Republicans.

Flaws for each major Republican.
-Romney: He has a major hate factor among the "R" candidates. If you watch they all gang up on him. Sharpton has some harsh words.
-McCain: Age, 2000, and views on war are big issues for him. I'm going to try to attend an event of his in Howell.
-Huckabee: He won Iowa due to religion. He will not do much damage in any state unless he can obtain more $$$.
-Guiliana: Running only off 9/11. His game plan of leaving out the momentum states (Iowa and NH) will hurt him.

Lucky Gore isnt running, people would have just not wasted their time on elections. Now 1Billion will be spent on the '08 election.

Interesting thoughts. I don't know who you are though. Anyway, super surprised Clinton took New Hampshire, really caught me by surprise. I think she might be getting some sympathy vote though. Should be an interesting race. Too bad she is guaranteed Michigan >:(

So Capy. About the thing next Friday. Sounds like STUCO is going to buy a table, so I am pretty positive I will be there.

You don't know who Bob Barker is? It's Kyle (sorry Kyle, had to out you), remember, he read that "titilating" read on Hillary last year (to use VF's words)

Kyle, I am very impressed with your knowlege. I still lean Obama and really think Edwards has a great shot at VP, but I do like Richardson too. And, word on the web is that he's ready to pull out.

I also was listening to NPR this morning about ways democrats could possibly get our delegates to vote Obama or Edwards. I will have to vote uncommitted. Then, we need 15% of people to vote that way, and then the deomcrats have to let our delegates vote in Denver....which they say they won't as sanctions against us for not following party rules and holding our primary too early! Politics! Gotta love em!

Anyway, Matt, I will see you next Friday then! I am super excited! I talked to D for a while last night. Will you please make sure you give her a big hug for me. She's going to hate it and think it's weird, but she's my BFF from Howell and I miss her lots!

Matt- It actually came as no shock to me that Hillary won NH. The young vote was not nearly as strong there. Bill won it 16 years ago, and the woman vote was won easily by her. The who tear thing wasn't as much of a factor as many thought.

Capy- Honestly, I didn't think Richardson would drop that early. Also, I think a lawsuit may come up about the democratic primary if they take the vote away. Alot of llegal issues may come up...

Heck, we may aswell vote for Sam Webb. A win for the Communist Party?

Nope, in the primary I am going to vote uncommitted. I love voting. I wasn't looking forward to it when I didn't feel like it would do any good, but now that I know I don't have to screw with the repblicans to possibly make a difference! Yippi. And, guys, you GOTTA start calling me Cantu!
